2015 Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir
The Pinot noir of Corralitos, at the southern end of the Santa Cruz Mountains appellation overlooking the Pacific, is known for intense flavors, slow ripening, and well integrated minerality.
Crush was followed by six days of cold soak, at 40 degrees. Maceration lasted 12 days. We did a light pressing with a hand- operated basket press.
The wine was aged in French oak barrels for 17 months, and released at 5 years. It is unfiltered.
This wine is expressive, with gorgeous aromas, and smooth tanins.

Dark ruby black color. Aromas of spiced dried figs, fruit cake, roasted tomatoes, agave nectar, and cocoa powder with a satiny, vibrant, dryish light-to-medium body. The palate is full of flavors, from tart berry and plum to licorice and nutmeg. It has a tingling, compelling, medium-length white pepper and cranberry finish with light oak flavor. A rich and distinctive Pinot Noir with big notes of dried fruit and a peppery palate.
